Mickey Mouse Strip
If you were lucky, today in 1955 you could have seen this Mickey Mouse comic strip in your daily newspaper. It was done by Floyd Gottfredson who had been doing it for 25 years and would do it for another 20. It was originally meant to be a "temporary" assignment. Since one strip isn't enough, what follows is a couple of day's strips before today and a few after. So you can get a feel for what it was like.
Note the Li'L Davy character. This was during the height of the Davy Crockett craze. I wasn't around then, but caught the bug when it was rebroadcast in the 1960s. I had me one of dem dere coonskin caps while singing the theme song.

They don't make lyrics like that anymore.
Thanks to you Boppers, you know who you are.
